LOL what the fuck kind of delivery is that? It looks like he just throws the ball like a shotput. Nice mouth shot.
Oh, I’m sorry. That was supposed to be Sunday’s post.
Fuck it, I’m leaving it.
Big Joe Blanton pitched an absolute gem tonight, going into the 8th inning and giving up just 1 run. Although the Phils squeaked out just 5 hits (60% of which came from Shane Victorino), they put 3 runs on the board and got the win.
I’m not going to really say anything else to wrap up tonight’s game, besides the fact that sometimes Brad Lidge makes even the most comfortable 9th inning save opportunities really nerve-racking. I’d like to see a little bit more dominant consistency there.
Congratulations to all of our Philly All-Stars. I promise to toast all of you with my first drink tonight, which will be poured in approximately 4 minutes. Merry Sweep to all and to all a good night!

I am a Braves fan and I just love this site. Tell me, what do you think of the Frenchy – Church trade? It seems like trading a flat coke for a flat pepsi. No doubt that the Braves got the better part though, Hope we can sweep them away once and for all. I don’t care if the Braves make the postseason, I just don’t want it to be close.

I think Church is a better player. How many HRs is is Jeff going to hit at Citi? 8?

I think it’s actually a good deal for both sides in the sense that both men needed a change of scenery. In Church, you guys got the better player right now. With Francoeur, the Mets got the player with the most upside and potential.
The problem is that Frenchy has had over 2,500 AB’s in his career and it seems like he may never get over that hump. Everybody thought he was a .290 hitter with the power to put up 25 homers because of his 2007 season. I don’t know if they’ll see that production out of him again, but if they do, it’ll turn out to be a great trade for the Mets.
Right now, you guys have landed the better player. Church will be a solid addition to the Braves, and you guys need consistent hitting right now.

Who cares? Joe Blanton has been pitching like he’s double-parked. They should bring Moyer in to relieve him to get the game up to 3 hours. The Mets might as well try to get Cy Young’s corpse to bring a little spark to their rotation.

You know what puzzles me? If the phillies can score like a mother fucker, am I to assume they don’t have a pitcher in the entire organization that can go 6 innings of 5 run ball?

Cole Hamels did it yesterday like a boss. 6 innings, 5 runs. Exactly what you want from your Ace.

When Cole was picthing, I kept thinking of “Come on Cole, be our fucking ace already” and I had a smile on my face despite the home runs flying out of the park that night.
