Now that Shane Victorino has been voted an All Star by the Philadelphia faithful, he has decided to show up the Pittsburgh Pirates this weekend to celebrate. Not only will Shane be playing in a full pirate costume, but he also plans to mount “Pirate Parrot” (stupid fucking name), the Pirate’s mascot, to his shoulder. When Victorino was asked by reporters earlier today if he thought it was a good idea to taunt the Pirates before the series, only one comment was issued – no questions asked.

No bullshit though, the Phillies should sweep this series easily. Though they are flawed, the Phillies are obviously the best team in the NL East right now. That being said, the Phillies need to increase their lead going into next week’s break with an easy, clean, and momentum gaining sweep of the Pirates.
The Phillies will send their three best pitchers to the mound this weekend, and I expect quality starts from all of them. If the Phillies can lean on their best arms this weekend, it should give the offense some much needed breathing room.
